REGISTRATION FAQ

Q: How old do you have to be to play?
A: A child must be between 4 ½ years old and 18 (Must be at least 4 on 7/31/2010).
Q: How long is the season?
A: 10 game season starting in August. Uniform shirt, shorts and socks are provided.
Q: How do I request to play with a friend?
A: In order to request for a player to play with a friend a special form MUST be filled out. They are available at all registrations. We cannot accommodate all requests. If your child is U8 (age 7) or younger we try to accommodate as many requests as possible. If your child is older we only consider requests that comply with the "bring a friend" program. We will accommodate as many "bring a friend" requests as possible. The children must be in the same age division.
Q: How do I request a coach?
A: We do not allow a coach to be requested. We will honor "bring a friend" requests when one child has never played with us before and both children are in the same age group. If your child is U8 (age 7) or younger you may request to play with another child.
Q: What day will games be on?
A: Most games are played on Saturdays. We anticipate almost 200 teams in the fall season and from time to time night games may be on the schedule in older age groups.
Q: What day will my child practice?
A: We anticipate almost 200 teams in the fall season. Practices days and times will be selected by the coach. All of our coaches are volunteers and they will set their practices days, times and locations to suit their schedules.
Q: What do I need to buy before our first practice?
A: All kids should come to practice with soccer cleats, shin guards, long soccer socks and a ball. Also bring to each game and practice some water for your child.
Q: What size ball should I buy?
A: U6, U7, U8 divisions play with a size 3 ball. U9, U10, U12 divisions play with a size 4 ball. U14 and older divisions play with a size 5 ball.
Q: When will I be contacted for the first practice?
You will hear from your coach directly between July 17 and July 26.
Q: What if I still have not heard from my coach?
A: . All players should hear from their coach by July 26th. If you have not please email your information to registrar@sanmarcosayso.org. Please note if you signed up late (after May 21st) you may not be called by a coach until September 6th or later.
Q: What do I need to bring to registration?
A: All new players should bring proof of age. All players need to be prepared to tell us the name of your insurance company and the name and number of a relative or family friend we may use as an emergency contact in case we are unable to reach you. If you would prefer to fill out a form at home please go to www.eayso.org and fill out a form online. Print 3 copies of the form to return to us with your payment. We take checks, money orders and cash as payment.
Q: What is proof of age?
A: Proof of age can be any official document showing the child's date of birth. It can be a birth certificate, insurance card when date of birth is printed, school enrollment forms, orders of divorce or support, adoption papers, or passports.
